Located in the heart of Eastern North Carolina, Greenville is one of the fastest growing cities in the state and this growth has encompassed our hospitality infrastructure as well. Greenville possesses the largest meeting facilities in our state east of I-95 as well as an array of smaller quality hotel and non-hotel meeting options for conference and reunion planners. In addition our athletic facilities host over one-hundred tournaments and events per year prompting Sports Illustrated to name Greenville Sportstown USA for the state of North Carolina.
Over the past decade, the growth of Greenville has led to many additional social and cultural opportunities for our visitors. Greenville’s newly created “Uptown District” offers individuals the best of dining and shopping in a four block radius just off of the East Carolina University Campus. Our convention center district, which was completed in the fall of 2009, features pedestrian friendly walkways, a pedestrian plaza and over 85 restaurants within a mile the convention center itself. New museums and attractions are also scheduled to open within the next year giving attendees a wealth of options during their free time.
Traveling to Greenville for a meeting or event has never been easier. There is four-lane highway access from every direction into Greenville and with the recent additions of the Wilson and Greensboro by-passes, traveling in from the western part of the state by car has become much quicker. The Pitt Greenville Airport is in the midst of an 18,000 square foot terminal expansion and is currently served by US Airways.
