The Greenville-Pitt County Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Greenville, NC) and Greenville-Pitt County Sports Commission (Play Greenville, NC Sports) are pleased to announce Joshua Meeks has joined our team as a new Sales & Services Assistant.
In this position, Meeks will assist in continuing to strengthen relationships with our local venues and event vendors, as well as ensuring the organization and execution of booked tournaments, meetings, and events in Pitt County.
“We are excited to be adding Joshua as our new Sales & Services Assistant,” stated Visit Greenville, NC President & CEO Andrew Schmidt. “His diverse skill set will add tremendous value to our groups that choose Greenville-Pitt County as their meeting and tournament destination.”
A Pitt County native, Joshua was raised in Farmville, and attended East Carolina University, where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Sports Studies and a Masters in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality with a concentration in Sports Management.
During his time at ECU, Joshua spent a lot of time working in the athletic world, working as a Digital and Social Media Marketing Intern with ECU Athletics, and as the Pirate Club’s Communication Assistant, where he assisted in event management, marketing efforts, and patron satisfaction on game days. After graduating from ECU, Meeks worked as an intern for Barton Athletics, assisting with broadcast and livestreams, collecting media assets, creating highlight videos, and more.
“I am excited for the opportunity to help increase the sports and tourism footprint for the Pitt County area” stated Meeks, “I hope to help build a stronger Eastern North Carolina in this position.”
In his free time, Joshua likes to spend quality time with his wife Emily. They love spending their weekends hiking in the mountains, antiquing at local shops, and cheering on the Pirates at ECU sports events. Joshua also occasionally does freelance sports photography and collects vintage cameras from his antiquing adventures.
