The PCC Music Department is excited to present our first of two Black Composer concerts on Feb. 16th at 7pm in the Eddie and Jo Alison Smith Center for Student Advancement (1935 Warren Drive, Winterville). This concert will feature the Emerald City Big Band with three special guests, Evan Roberson (trombone), RaSheeda Waddell (vocals), and Reginald McNeill (piano). The music of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn will be celebrated and performed. You’ll hear such hits as “Take the A-Train”, “Satin Doll”, “It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got that Swing”, the iconic “Lush Life”, and many more. Evan, Roberson, and RaSheeda Waddell are not just celebrated performers on the jazz scene in Eastern North Carolina, they are all Adjunct Professors at Pitt Community College. This is a concert you don’t want to miss. The concert is free, but donations will be accepted. Please contact R. Michael Stephenson with questions at rmstephenson701@my.pittcc.edu or (252) 493-7493.
