Learn tips and tricks for winter identification of common trees in the woodlands and swamps of eastern NC. This 1/2 mile, guided trail hike involves plenty of observation and documentation. Create bark and leaf rubbings to take home! Explore and discuss the flora and fauna in the woodlands, wetlands, and ponds on our 400 acres. Our themed trail hikes will encourage you to view the trails and local habitats in new and exciting ways. All Trail hikes are catered toward Elementary and Middle school-aged students, but can be enjoyed by families of any size and age. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable, safe footwear for hikes. Cost: $5/participant.All of our programs are Covid-conscious and align with the latest scientific research and government recommendations. The use of face coverings, social distancing, and handwashing are prioritized to keep our visitors and staff safe.This event has a limited number of spaces.
