Little League Softball World Series

 

Welcome to the 2024 Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, NC!

The Little League® Softball World Series returns to Greenville this week, and organizers are making final preparations to make the tournament a success!

This year's tournament will feature an expanded field with 12 teams from across the United States and beyond competing August 4-11, 2024 at Stallings Stadium at Elm Street Park. Admission is free, and all games will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks, including ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNews, and ESPN+. This international and televised tournament is estimated to bring $1.3 million in economic impact to the Greenville-Pitt County community. 

In an effort to ensure the safety of participants and spectators, the City of Greenville will be closing Elm Street between 14th Street and 10th Street, beginning August 4 until August 11. Detours will utilize Charles Boulevard. Motorists traveling north will be detoured from Greenville Boulevard to Charles Boulevard and 10th Street. Motorists heading south will be detoured from 10th Street to Charles Boulevard and Greenville Boulevard. Only permitted traffic will be allowed in the blocked section of Elm Street during the closure.

Transportation will be provided for participating players and coaches, while public parking for the event will be available in the College Hill Drive parking lot located near the corner of 10th Street and College Hill Drive. Members of the public will access Elm Street Park from the College Hill parking lot via the Green Mill Run Greenway.

This year's tournament will feature 12 teams from across the United States, Asia-Pacific, Canada, Europe-Africa, and Latin America. Admission is free, and all games will be broadcast on the ESPN platforms, including ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNews, and ESPN+, with the final championship game being shown on ABC for the first time in the event’s history. This year’s event will also feature the return of AU Pro Games at the LLSWS, bringing Athletes Unlimited Softball players to Greenville to meet and interact with LLSWS participants, and play a double header on Wednesday, August 7 at 5:30pm & 7:30pm at the ECU Max R. Joyner Family Stadium.

LLSWS 2024 Opening Ceremony & Celebration

Join Us at the Opening Ceremony at Town Common!

To kick off this year’s tournament the public is invited to come out to the Opening Ceremony on Saturday, August 3 from 6pm – 8pm at the Greenville Town Common to welcome the players, coaches, umpires, families, media, and more to Greenville-Pitt County! Come out and enjoy a live DJ, food trucks, photo booths, water activities, and more! 

Event Schedule:

4:45pm- Athletes will arrive at Town Common to have dinner

5:45pm- Athletes will line up for walk-up songs and introductions (Greenville Toyota Amphitheater stage)

6:00pm- Opening Ceremonies start

Food Trucks will Include: Taco Soul, Tucci’s Fired Up, Pointer’s BBQ, The Burp Wagon, Astros Corn Dogs, East Carolina Italian Ice

Admission is FREE to all games, and the public is welcome and invited to attend! Concessions and food trucks will be available on-site to enjoy. 

Elm Street between 14th Street and 10th Street will be closed August 4-11. Detours will utilize Charles Boulevard. Motorists traveling north will be detoured from Greenville Boulevard to Charles Boulevard and 10th Street. Those heading south will be detoured from 10th Street to Charles Boulevard and Greenville Boulevard. Only permitted traffic will be allowed in the blocked intersection of Elm Street during the closure.

Free public parking for the event will be available in the College Hill Drive parking lot located near the corner of 10th Street and College Hill Drive. The public will access Elm Street Park from the College Hill parking lot via the Green Mill Run Greenway. Golf cart shuttles to and from this parking lot to the stadium will be available before, during, and after all games. 

All games will be broadcast on the ESPN platforms, including ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNews, and ESPN+, with the final championship game on August 11 being shown on ABC again this year.
