The Greenville-Pitt County Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Greenville, NC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Joshua Meeks to Sales & Services Specialist for the Meetings & Conventions market.

Meeks has served as the Sales & Services Assistant since 2024, and has done exceptional work with the family and school reunion markets by building strong relationships, providing complimentary planner services, and assisting with securing overnight accommodations. In 2025 alone, Meeks successfully worked with and serviced over 20 groups in three months during peak reunion season, and is on track to exceed that number in 2026.

In his new role as Sales & Services Specialist, Meeks will maintain those services focusing fully on the meetings, conventions, and reunions group markets, as well as integrating into meeting sales working with small meetings and Social, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal (SMERF) groups.

"I have enjoyed having the opportunity to learn more about Visit Greenville, NC and the SMERF market over the last two years, and I am excited to take on this new role to continue helping bring more meetings and events to Greenville-Pitt County to support our local businesses and economy," stated Joshua Meeks, Sales & Services Specialist with Visit Greenville, NC.

During his time with Visit Greenville, NC, Meeks has completed the Simpleview Brainery course, a multi-module program that covers the complete basic functions of Simpleview’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and how it can be fully and efficiently utilized to track information throughout the booking process, from initial contact with a group, to running reports and searches that measure the impact of an event after its completion.

Meeks has also recently obtained his Sustainable Event Professional Certificate (SEPC) from the Events Industry Council (EIC). He completed over 16 guided modules, ranging from carbon management to sustainability frameworks, and community engagement, where participants learn to design compelling, responsible events. The program includes a digital workbook and personalized roadmap to aid in their work within their organization to help ensure our organization considers the long-term impacts and sustainability during the planning and execution process of the events we host in Greenville-Pitt County.

“Joshua has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to learning, growth, and serving our clients and community. Since joining Visit Greenville, NC, he has embraced every opportunity to develop his skills, take on new responsibilities, and contribute to the positive culture of our organization,” stated Rachel Whitten, President & CEO of Visit Greenville, NC. “This promotion reflects the hard work he has invested and the confidence we have in his ability to continue growing, building relationships, and delivering exceptional service to our guests on behalf of Greenville and Pitt County. We are excited to see him continue his career in this new role."
