In celebration of National Travel & Tourism Week May 4 – 10, 2025, the Greenville-Pitt County Convention & Visitors Bureau (Visit Greenville, NC) held their 10th Annual National Travel & Tourism Week Celebration on Tuesday, May 6 and recognized three local partners for their impactful and lasting contributions to the Greenville-Pitt County tourism industry with Good Company Tourism Partner Awards.

2025 Visit Greenville, NC Good Company Tourism Partner Award Recipients:

This award is given to partners who go above and beyond in supporting tourism and hospitality in Greenville–Pitt County.

Rhesa Tucker, President & CEO of the Greenville Convention Center- Rhesa has been instrumental in supporting travel and tourism to Greenville-Pitt County for the duration of her long career in hospitality with the Hilton Greenville and the Greenville Convention Center. Her tenacity and unrivaled commitment to service that meets and exceeds client and guest expectations is a significant reason for the success of our Greenville Convention Center campus and our Meetings, Conventions & Sports business.

 

Hilton Garden Inn- Greenville University Area- The Hilton Garden Inn- Greenville University Area, located at 423 Evans Street, recently began welcoming guests on February 26, 2025, and has already had a significant impact on Downtown Greenville, and will continue to prove transformative to our local community and economy for many years to come. The hotel project is owned by Greenville Ventures LLC, in collaboration with CO-X Holdings and Sandlin Investments, several members of which are East Carolina University alumni, and saw the need, value, and opportunity in investing in our Downtown Greenville and University Districts to support their growth and success. The Hilton Garden Inn Greenville University Area is a full-service hotel located in the heart of Downtown Greenville, just a five-minute walk from ECU’s main campus, the hotel offers 101 guest rooms, a 24-hour fitness center, and 1,200 square feet of meeting space, as well as the 1717 Rooftop Restaurant & Bar providing beautiful panoramic views of Downtown Greenville.

 

2025 Play Greenville, NC Sports Good Company Tourism Partner Award Recipient:

This award is given to partners who go above and beyond in supporting sports tourism in Greenville–Pitt County.

Alice F. Keene, Pitt County Cultural Arts & Recreation Department- Alice has made a meaningful and lasting impact on our Greenville-Pitt County sports industry and community, by helping expand sports offerings locally, most notably through contributions to advancing inclusive sports opportunities, such as her work with the North Carolina Senior Games, and efforts to promote adaptive sports like wheelchair basketball. Her passion for community wellness, accessibility, and teamwork throughout her long career has helped create memorable and inclusive experiences for countless athletes, families, and fans, as well as improved the quality of life for countless Greenville-Pitt County residents in so many ways.  

 

The annual Visit Greenville, NC NTTW Celebration seeks to educate our local community, industry partners, elected officials, and the media on community and economic impact of tourism in Greenville-Pitt County, and to show our support for continued strategic development projects that will enhance our tourism infrastructure, lead to job growth, and further create a sense of place in our destination.
