Native Fine Diner Hosts Distinctive Chef Series Celebrating Bespoke Diner Cuisine

Diners are making a comeback—think skinny fries, mile-high pastrami sandwiches, and buttery baked oysters. Comfortable, familiar, and approachable yet refined, the modern diner experience blends nostalgia with culinary innovation. And nowhere is this more evident than at Native Fine Diner, the premier destination for elevated diner food in the US, where classic American diner fare meets contemporary creativity in a historic building held fast to its dining roots.

This isn’t your typical Rockabilly-inspired diner—no roller-skating waitresses or bubblegum-snapping clichés here. Instead, Native Fine Diner joins with local farmers to offer an elevated take on distinctly American cuisine, incorporating influences from each of their unique heritage.

To further explore and celebrate the evolution of diner food, Chef-Owner Luke Owens is launching a three-night, multi-month-and-city chef series featuring menus with some of the South’s most exciting culinary talents. Owens will welcome Chef Oscar Johnson—James Beard Nominated owner of Jimmy Pearls in Charlotte, NC—on March 15 and Chef Adé Carrena—owner of Dounou Cuisine in Raleigh, NC—on April 12. Both chefs will join Chef Luke for a distinctive dining experience that reinterprets classic diner fare with bold, unexpected flavors—like “Wing Ding,” crispy turkey wings with sweet szechuan mustard, and “Box Yok,” smoked pork with potlikker broth and yockamein noodles. Chef Luke takes the show on the road March 5 to Charleston, SC, joining Chef Bob Cook at James Beard Nominated Edmund’s Oast for a coastal-inspired diner dinner in the Lowcountry.
